Nia KB [they/them] is a Black queer nonbinary poet, editor, and educator currently based in Austin, TX. They’ve received fellowships and residencies from the Vermont Studio Center, Lambda Literary, The Hurston/Wright Foundation, The Watering Hole, Winter Tangerine, and UTSA’s African American Literatures and Cultures Institute. Their poetry appears in The Cincinnati Review, The Matador Review, Cosmonauts Avenue, The Shade Journal, Sappho’s Torque, and other pretty places.
When they’re not blessing stages or writing pages, they serve as Program Coordinator for the Gender and Sexuality Center at the University of Texas at Austin, Teaching Artist for the Austin Library Foundation, Curator/Host of ATX Interfaces, Assistant Editor for Borderlands: Texas Poetry Review, Associate Poetry Editor for fields Magazine, and proud member of Lenguas Locxs Writers Collective. They’re currently the Spring 2020 guest editor for Foglifter Press.
